Braves Game Update

Posted on Mar 8 2017 - 10:49pm

***Braves Game Status Update*** I scored us some tickets!!! Our Troop will have 20 tickets and 5 parking passes (right next to the Scout Shop). The tickets are $10 apiece, and parking will cost $4 per attendee if all 20 go. Tickets will be allotted to SCOUTS and VOLUNTEERS (i.e. either on Program Staff or Committee). After that, the tickets can/will be opened up to families if there are any more available. The plan is to meet up @ the VFW before the game and carpool.

Scout Day/Star Wars Night at SunTrust Park

Posted on Mar 7 2017 - 2:33pm

I have created an event and a sign up for Boy Scout/Star Wars night at SunTrust Park. The event will be on 06 May @ 7pm. Participating scouts/leaders will recieve an Atlanta Braves Scout Patch. They will also participate in a pregame parade, and will need to be in place at the 3rd base ramp NLT 6PM. Patches should be picked up at Guest Relations near section 111 (I'll handle that). Right now, tickets are going for $28 a head so we need to know if you plan to go ASAP so we can all sit together.

Webelos Woods

Posted on Jan 24 2017 - 10:23pm

It has been requested that the Troop assist with Webelos Woods this year. It's the first time they've had it in a while, and we really need to have a presence. So far, they are only requesting help on Saturday the 18th. As this is the week end before our March New Scout campout, it will also be a good chance to recruit more boys to come. Please refer any questions to ASM John.

Annual Ski Trip 2/20/17 - 2/23/2017

Posted on Nov 28 2016 - 9:59am

Troop 1916,

I’m excited to inform you that our troop has decided to go back to Sugar Mountain Ski resort ( for our annual ski trip.  Just like last year we will plan on leaving on Monday, February 20th at 12:00pm and return late evening on Wednesday, February 22nd.  The trip will include 2 full days of skiing or snowboarding at a great cost of $50 ($25 per day) skiing or $60 ($30 per day) snowboarding (same as last year).  This is a special rate they only offer to scouts, public school field trips and home schools.  This rate includes lift ticket, equipment rental and a beginner lesson.  A $400 refundable deposit is required for all snowboarding rental.  Last year some of the boys went night skiing which is an additional $27 ($22 if group of 15 or more).  If you would like to night ski make sure to bring extra money.  Over the past two years we have stayed at the Holston Retreat Center (  In the past we were charged a flat fee per person which included the meals.  This year they have moved to a flat fee per lodge (meals extra).  This has increased the stay by about $50 per person (based on previous numbers).  I’m going to check a few other places before I decide where we will be staying but the cost will be around $50 more this year.  Last year skier’s total cost was $175 per person and snowboarder’s cost was $185 per person.  The estimated cost this year will be around $225 and $235 per person.  This is still a really good price for 2 days of skiing, travel and meals.  Sugar Mountain is approximately 300 miles from Acworth and is about a 5 ½ hour car trip.  Once I get a good headcount I can provide a precise cost per scout.  If you have any questions please email or give me a call.  The sooner I get a count, the quicker I can determine a final cost.  I will post this on the web site so please make sure to sign-up through the site. Please forward to anyone that did not receive this email.
